TRAINING

All professionals can participate in Protective Factors training provided face-to-face by Strengthening Families Georgia (SFG) or in national online training provided by the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds (The Alliance). Both trainings feature an overview and modules on each of the five Protective Factors.

QRLogo250Quality Rated participants in Georgia’s Department of Early Care and Learning’s Quality Rated Program can participate in special online versions of the SFG Overview and Connections: The Foundation of Family Engagement courses via access through their Quality Rated Portal. These online versions of the Overview and Connections courses, available in English or Spanish, are approved and funded by DECAL and made available in collaboration with ProSolutions, the DFCS Office of Prevention and Family Support, and the Georgia Association on Young Children.

Georgia Trainers can participate, upon acceptance, in a 12-hour Strengthening Families Georgia Train the Trainer conducted by the Georgia Association for Education of Young Children with funding from the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Families and Children Services. national.allianceAnyone can participate in the free national online training provided by the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds (The Alliance). Seven modules are offered which includes an overview module, a module on each of the five Protective Factors, and a reflections module. Visit www.ctfalliance.org/onlinetraining for details. Please realize that the national online training is not DECAL approved, however the modules offer excellent information.
